Being healthy. Everybody talks about it. We all hear about it. But what does it really mean? In many ways, health and wellness can be broken down in to six major components: physical, mental, emotional, social, occupational and spiritual.

I like to think of it as a wheel:

At HNU, health and wellness education is geared toward helping you attain an ideal balance between all of these areas. When all of these components of living are in harmony, we experience well-being.

Health is not the answer. Health includes responsible behavior to: roommates, classrooms, offices, teams, friends, family, and most importantly, ourselves. Healthful behavior draws us closer to our full potential as human beings, personally and in our relationships to the world around us.
