70-Something Things About Me...

  1. I grew up in Cape Cod, MA.
  2. If you flex your bicep, that's Cape Cod looks like.
  3. I am the oldest child.
  4. I have two brothers who can't resist beating on me.
  5. They are 6'3" and 6'4", respectively.
  6. I am 5'8" and the shortest one in my family.
  7. Except for my Auntie Ellie, who must have gotten a random tiny gene.
  8. I am a southpaw.
  9. Whenever I use markers, I always end up with a huge marker smudge on my hand.
  10. And on the paper too.
  11. Unlike alanis Morrisette, I understand the meaning of the word irony.
  12. And I can explain it to you using concrete examples.
  13. Donuts always seem like a good idea at the time.
  14. So does tuna fish.
  15. My favorite soda is Dr. Pepper or Caffein Free Coca-Cola.
  16. Caffeine makes me all buzzy.
  17. Although I do like a good vanilla latte every now and then.
  18. I f-ing hate diet soda or anything with that brain damage causing doesn't taste like sugar too sweet Nutra-Sweet, for that matter.
  19. Except for Crystal Light. Mmmmmm.
  20. I am a jazz singer.
  21. I am a human beat box.
  22. I learned how to beat box in college, when I was the musical director of my a cappella group.
  23. My a cappella group had all girls in it.
  24. We used to grab each other's boobs a lot.
  25. I am afraid of the dentist.
  26. Not just afraid, completely phobic.
  27. I get anxious about a lot of things, really.
  28. But I try to be chill.
  29. I dig funk, hip hop, girlie folk music, and old school soul.
  30. I miss singing.
  31. My favorite thing to do is lay in bed and watch tv.
  32. Or just lay in bed.
  33. Drinking tea. Especially keemun or assam.
  34. I love Scrubs (and Zach Braff, if you couldn't tell).
  35. I hate being hot.
  36. I would rather be cold than hot, because you can only take off so many clothes, right?
  37. That's why I like San Francisco, because it's cool and foggy.
  38. I really want a scooter.
  39. I hate sweating. And I sweat a lot.
  40. I have tiny pores.
  41. So when I exercise, I turn bright red.
  42. My sport of choice is video games.
  43. But I like basketball too.
  44. I once lost my friend Elana in Rome when we were on a trip to Italy.
  45. She didn't get on the bus.
  46. Z and I waited for her and drank cappucino.
  47. But she went back to the hotel instead.
  48. I like hotels, except the ones that smell funny.
  49. Two years ago, I got to stay in a hotel in Vermont and sleep all day while Loody went to a conference.
  50. I met Loody three years ago and we realized we were friends.
  51. Then really good friends.
  52. And then we realized that friends don't stay up until four in the morning every night talking, or tickle each other.
  53. Then we realized we were in love.
  54. So now we have three cats and a little apartment.
  55. Getting two baby cats when we already had one seemed like a good idea at the time.
  56. I used to hate cats, but not anymore.
  57. But I am still not a "cat person".
  58. I went to Brandeis University in Boston, MA.
  59. I worked there after I graduated as the Coordinator of First Year Services.
  60. Oh, excuse me, the "Interim" Coordinator of First Year Services.
  61. Don't ask.
  62. I was a Sociology major, with a concentration in Health & Illness.
  63. I wanted to be a doctor, but didin't really want to be a doctor.
  64. And I couldn't let myself do what I actually wanted.
  65. Nursing seemed "not good enough".
  66. I was just listening to too many other people.
  67. Then I grew up.
  68. Now I am an oncology nurse.
  69. I just finished my first year of the three year master's program, and am officially an RN.
  70. No, I can't believe I am going to be responsible for peoples' lives either.
  71. But, I do well in a crisis, so it's all good.
  72. I also have a non-profit organization that I started with my friend Samantha.
  73. It is called "The SAMFund" and we started it to provide financial support for young adult cancer survivors.
  74. 100 things is a lot, so I am ending here.
