70-Something Things About Me...

- I grew up in Cape Cod, MA.
- If you flex your bicep, that's Cape Cod looks like.
- I am the oldest child.
- I have two brothers who can't resist beating on me.
- They are 6'3" and 6'4", respectively.
- I am 5'8" and the shortest one in my family.
- Except for my Auntie Ellie, who must have gotten a random tiny gene.
- I am a southpaw.
- Whenever I use markers, I always end up with a huge marker smudge on my hand.
- And on the paper too.
- Unlike alanis Morrisette, I understand the meaning of the word irony.
- And I can explain it to you using concrete examples.
- Donuts always seem like a good idea at the time.
- So does tuna fish.
- My favorite soda is Dr. Pepper or Caffein Free Coca-Cola.
- Caffeine makes me all buzzy.
- Although I do like a good vanilla latte every now and then.
- I f-ing hate diet soda or anything with that brain damage causing doesn't taste like sugar too sweet Nutra-Sweet, for that matter.
- Except for Crystal Light. Mmmmmm.
- I am a jazz singer.
- I am a human beat box.
- I learned how to beat box in college, when I was the musical director of my a cappella group.
- My a cappella group had all girls in it.
- We used to grab each other's boobs a lot.
- I am afraid of the dentist.
- Not just afraid, completely phobic.
- I get anxious about a lot of things, really.
- But I try to be chill.
- I dig funk, hip hop, girlie folk music, and old school soul.
- I miss singing.
- My favorite thing to do is lay in bed and watch tv.
- Or just lay in bed.
- Drinking tea. Especially keemun or assam.
- I love Scrubs (and Zach Braff, if you couldn't tell).
- I hate being hot.
- I would rather be cold than hot, because you can only take off so many clothes, right?
- That's why I like San Francisco, because it's cool and foggy.
- I really want a scooter.
- I hate sweating. And I sweat a lot.
- I have tiny pores.
- So when I exercise, I turn bright red.
- My sport of choice is video games.
- But I like basketball too.
- I once lost my friend Elana in Rome when we were on a trip to Italy.
- She didn't get on the bus.
- Z and I waited for her and drank cappucino.
- But she went back to the hotel instead.
- I like hotels, except the ones that smell funny.
- Two years ago, I got to stay in a hotel in Vermont and sleep all day while Loody went to a conference.
- I met Loody three years ago and we realized we were friends.
- Then really good friends.
- And then we realized that friends don't stay up until four in the morning every night talking, or tickle each other.
- Then we realized we were in love.
- So now we have three cats and a little apartment.
- Getting two baby cats when we already had one seemed like a good idea at the time.
- I used to hate cats, but not anymore.
- But I am still not a "cat person".
- I went to Brandeis University in Boston, MA.
- I worked there after I graduated as the Coordinator of First Year Services.
- Oh, excuse me, the "Interim" Coordinator of First Year Services.
- Don't ask.
- I was a Sociology major, with a concentration in Health & Illness.
- I wanted to be a doctor, but didin't really want to be a doctor.
- And I couldn't let myself do what I actually wanted.
- Nursing seemed "not good enough".
- I was just listening to too many other people.
- Then I grew up.
- Now I am an oncology nurse.
- I just finished my first year of the three year master's program, and am officially an RN.
- No, I can't believe I am going to be responsible for peoples' lives either.
- But, I do well in a crisis, so it's all good.
- I also have a non-profit organization that I started with my friend Samantha.
- It is called "The SAMFund" and we started it to provide financial support for young adult cancer survivors.
- 100 things is a lot, so I am ending here.
